Occupational Safety and Health Management System and Goal

Actron complies with domestic laws related to occupational safety and health and international standards, and has obtained ISO 45001:2018 and TOSHMS certifications. Actron also organized the “Safety and Health Family” with the Office of Labor Inspection, Taoyuan City, in order to convey the concept of “large enterprise leading small enterprises” for the promotion of occupational safety and health culture, with the core enterprise providing assistance to small and medium enterprises in the improvement of the work environment, thereby improving the occupational safety and health level and achieving the goal of zero accidents. Through the continuous promotion of safety culture and realizing the participation of all personnel, we expect to achieve the important goals of accident prevention and the promotion of a safe environment for employees’ operations, as well as the protection of employees, thereby establishing a happy workplace and friendly environment.

Actron has established the Environmental Safety and Health Management Committee, and the President acts as the chair and supervises the execution of occupational safety and health-related matters. The committee includes relevant labor representatives, accounting for 55% of the total number of members, allowing the meeting discussion, resolution and follow-up matter to be conveyed through the labor representatives with the employees’ recommendations, and enabling all unit members to assist each department to promote and educate the concept of occupational safety and health, as well as relevant events, in order to achieve more direct benefits. In addition, the “Relevant Occupational Safety and Health Information” is also updated monthly on the environmental safety and health bulletin board, in order to allow all employees of Actron to obtain a variety of safety knowledge related to work and thereby jointly construct a safety culture for Actron.

In addition, we also specifically establish occupational safety and health promotional events, and convene Environmental Safety and Health Management Committee meetings and management meetings, and also reach resolutions on relevant safety and health guidelines during the meetings in order to continuously protect the safety and health of employees of Actron.

Secure and Protected Working Environment

Starting from machine purchase, Actron has adopted the safety design and protection at the source end, so that the safety of high-risk machine equipment can be identified during the procurement stage and relevant supporting protective measures can be considered. Currently, all equipment is required to be equipped with basic functions such as a safety interlock detection device, hazardous energy control, safety protection and overheating protection, in order to reduce the exposure risk during personnel operation, thereby achieving occupational safety and production efficiency at the same time.

Implement inspection on hazardous operations (safety system interruption operations, fire work operations, hazardous pipeline operations, hoisting operations, overhead operations, confined space operations, drilling/boring operations), chemical warehouses, clean rooms, factory sites, fire sources and heat sources. In 2024, a total of 50 potential safety and health deficiencies were found in the factory, and most of the deficiencies related to general safety, accounting for 36%, and chemical safety management deficiencies accounting for 30% were second. All of the deficiencies have been improved completely, in order to reduce the company’s risks and continue making improvements.

To ensure the safety of the work environment, we provide complete environmental monitoring, protective equipment, operational regulations and health protection follow-up operations for special operation locations with noise, dust and nickel-containing operations in accordance with Article 12 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and we also implement education and training. The inspection results in 2024 complied with the standards.

Occupational Safety and Health General Knowledge Educational Training and Promotion

Actron properly implements occupational safety and health education and training.  In addition to compliance with the occupational safety and health regulations, we further organize numerous drills superior to the regulatory requirements.  In 2024, there were 2,088 training hours; the average training hours per person were 2.65 hours.  In the future, we will continue to convey the safety culture in order to achieve full employee participation and reduce the occupational accident risk to the minimum, thus heading for the goal of a workplace with zero occupational injuries.

Occupational Statistics and Analysis

Actron arranges factory nurses to provide periodic care for employees with injuries or illnesses. With the systematic management of ISO 45001 and TOSHMS, we continue to improve the internal legal compliance level and the PDCA process for internal occupational accident analysis and also implement improvement at the same time, in order to effectively reduce employee occupational accident risk. In 2024, Actron’s total injury indicator was 0.06, lower than the average value of 0.52 in the auto industry (lower than the average value of the auto industry for 8 consecutive years). In addition, in 2024, the accumulated accident-free working hours reached 6,195,803, and Actron also received the “ Million Accident-Free Working Hours Record Certificate” issued by the Industrial Safety and Health Association of R.O.C. for the fourth time. Up to the present day, Actron has not had any cases of occupational disease due to work and no accident resulting in death due to occupational injury.

To maintain a safe and healthy workplace, in addition to implementing training activities, Actron has also established the “Accident Handing Operation Procedures”, in order to analyze the cause of accidents and to adopt appropriate preventive measures. According to the statistics on occupational accidents in 2024, there were 5 traffic accidents and 4 accidents.

Employee Health Care

Actron has established a medical room at the factory site with full-time nursing staff, and a physician specializing in occupational disease has been contracted to provide on-site services, in order to assist employees with health consultation and emergency injury and disease care services. The medical room also performs initial evaluation according to the health examination report results to screen out high-risk groups, regular injury hospitalization and regular injury case management, employee health management interviews and work suitability evaluations for female employees before, during and after their pregnancy period, and arrangement of interviews with the on-site physician, in order to provide health education concepts and allow facility nurses to perform subsequent health management and care follow-up.

In 2024, regarding the four main items of occupational injury, maternity protection (pregnant women), hospitalization, and traffic accidents during the commute to and from work, there were a total of 60 people that had consultations with the on-site physician in the factory, and at total of 218 people received care interview consultations and medical care from the factory nurse.

Actron has established care regulations and has set up a complete breastfeeding room on the first floor of the Plant. For female employees planning for pregnancy, during pregnancy and within one year after giving birth, Actron has arranged a professional on-site physician and facility nurse to provide appropriate care consultation and evaluation measures.  In 2024, there were 8 pregnant women who received care consultation, and the consultation content included evaluation of the employee’s physical condition survey and whether or not there was any need to adjust the work content, working hours, or job position during the pregnancy period, and other protective measures.

At Actron, our employee health checkup program exceeds the requirements of the Labor Standards Act. We conduct comprehensive annual health examinations for all employees regardless of age. In addition, occupational health nurses review employees’ previous health conditions to adjust examination items, ensuring a more thorough and personalized checkup. Over the years, participation rates in these checkups have remained consistently high..

In accordance with regulatory requirements, in addition to regular health examination, for employees working in an operating environment (noise, nickel-containing and chemical compounds) for a period over eight hours per day, special operation health examination is also arranged.  In 2024, the number of employees required to undergo the two examinations was 107 people, and the actual number of employees receiving the examination was 107 people, with an examination rate of 100%. Employees were arranged to receive an initial examination at the factory and a second examination at the occupational disease department at a hospital.
